The text below has been taken directly from The New St. Joseph First Communion Catechism (1963), available in the bookstore of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Grapevine Texas. This is where my brother is sending his children to "Faith Formation":
"What happens to those who die in mortal sin?
...Hell is a terrible place. ...Those who are there suffer great pain.
...They are slaves of the devil.

St Francis uses an updated catechism called We Believe. I purchased the St. Joseph book from a private Catholic bookstore in Fort Worth TX because I wanted to share the prayers i learned as a child.
